Dear Members & Friends;
  Ever since I first began pastoral ministry some 25 years ago, I have always held firmly to my conviction that it is the responsibility of the New Testament church to do far more than simply preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We have been called, commanded, and admonished by God's holy apostles to emulate the church we read of in the Biblical book of Acts, a historical account of the early Christian church and it's teachings, as well as it's practices.  Too many churches build great houses of worship, but the practical applications of Christian teaching are ignored as all the financial resources afforded that ministry are put into further preaching and building programs.  All the while the hungry, destitute, depressed, despondent, and needy among them are left to go home from inspiring church services with nothing more than a pat on the back and a "We'll be praying for you."
  The church of Jesus Christ is a doing church.  We don't talk, we do!  And there is no excuse today for the church not ministering to people at every conceivable level as the resources that are available to us in this modern era are so much greater than those available to our early members of the faith.  We can do things today that would stagger the mind of the early church if we had a mind to do so.
  I have always envisioned one day having a church that utilizes it's corporate compassion and influence to establish a number of business ventures and ministry venues which would offer God's people places to shop, do their most basic daily living functions, as well as engage in ministry activities which would enrich and educate.  The profits from these ventures could then be folded right back into the ministry.  Unlike secular corporations which seek to enrich and profit their stockholders, the church's ventures would seek only to attain the financial resources need to daily minister to the needs of God's people at every conceivable level.  I want to make this point perfectly clear, even at this early juncture, at no time will the people of this ministry ever be asked or allowed to refer to the pastor or bishop of this ministry as "Father," (Matthew 23;9) or any other term derived from this title (Dad, daddy, Papa, Pope, etc).  All the ministries and offerings of this church and it's extensions are dedicated firstly and only to the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and they are done for His honor and glory alone.
  Many strange cults have polluted the notion of the church doing things as it was done in the early church by reason of their cultivation of segregated communities and mandatory participation of members in the corporate community arrangements.  This is not at all what we are striving to accomplish.  We do not seek to establish any kind of a mandatory community, estranged and separated from the rest of the world.  We seek rather to establish an oasis of grace and love in the midst of our urban environment that offers help and ministry to not only our church members, but also to the community at large.  Even the housing offered by our ministry would not be reserved only for our members.  Anyone in the community, member of our church or not, would be welcome to participate in and benefit from the various ministries we seek to offer.  We do not seek to control people's lives or behavior in any way, so anyone participating in the programs that we offer would be able to do so without any coercion or manipulation meant to rope them into membership in our church.  Membership within our church will never be a mandatory requirement for one seeking our assistance.
  The one conviction that we do have however is  this; anyone who would benefit in a tangible way from this ministry must in some tangible way contribute to the operations of the same.  In other words, "If you don't work, you don't eat."  Obviously, this rule would not apply to disabled or retired individuals living in subsidized or low-income housing, or residing in our retirement/nursing facility(ies). Part of our vision is to help able bodied, working age folks establish themselves as productive members of society.  With this in mind, any benefit that an individual might glean from our ministries would be augmented by their participation in some work on behalf of the ministry. In doing this they would attain much needed and beneficial work experience which they then can use on resumes and job applications as they seek to better their personal situations by seeking employment outside of the JACCI campus.  No slave labor by any means. All of our people would be paid fully for all their work, an honest legal wage. However, unlike welfare and government entitlement programs, no one would be able to simply sit back and do nothing while the church provides them with housing, clothing, food, etc.  Even an individual with some physical limitations or impairments might be able to contribute to running a photo copier or folding newsletters, for example.  Our goal and intent being that we would seek to instill ambition, and a healthy work ethic in every individual seeking the assistance of JACCI.
  Our vision is an ambitious one.  We seek to do what very few have ever done.  But in this time of human history, leading up to the return of our Lord Jesus Christ, greed is destroying our society as corporate America takes gross advantage of our poor and steals every penny it can lay it's hands on from those who can least afford to lose a cent.  So, in an effort to combat this spirit of lust and insatiable greed, we desire to answer this societal ill with genuine compassion and constructive love in action, otherwise known as charity.  The one Christian organization which has probably come closest to achieving the type of ministry we desire to establish is the wonderful, admirable, and very successful Salvation Army.
  We would love to have you join with us as we strive to make this vision a reality.  It is actually much closer to fruition than one might realize.  It doesn't a lot from a few, but rather a little from many.  As we combine our talents, abilities, energies, and resources; we shall be able to achieve our dreams and realize our loftiest goals.  It can be done.  Will you join with us and help to bring this dream to life?
  I look forward to sharing more and working with you as we together labor with the Lord to accomplish great things to the glory of our God in the wonderful name of Jesus!
